Cryptic Writings is a Female fronted Megadeth Tribute band based out of Colorado. With heard hitting drums, thunderous bass, intricate guitar work, towering vocals, & of course a Vic Rattlehead crowd pleaser, Cryptic Writings is an authentic Megadeth tribute as close to the real thing as you can get.
As a band we strive to deliver the best & most authentic Megadeth experience we can offer. Playing anywhere from classic & greatest hit songs to deep cuts long time Megadeth fans want to hear.
Phoenix Rose
Vocals/Guitar
Phoenix was born in Orlando, FL. As a kid her family moved around quite a bit. She started gravitating to music at an early age showing interest in classic rock her parents were always listening to on the radio. Around the age of 10 she asked her parents for a guitar for Christmas & that's where her musical journey began. After about a year of learning to play, her parents got her the gutiar she had been looking at at the local music shop. She formed her first band in Jr. High & has been in multiple bands ever since. It wasn't until after High School that she started playing bigger venues. Since then she's opened for multiple national acts such as: Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Tracii Guns L.A. Guns, Black N Blue, Faster Pussycat, Saliva, Doyle, The Iron Maidens, etc. the list goes on. She formed Cryptic Writings in 2016. The band has been going strong ever since.
Jimie Rod
Bass Guitar
Jimie was born in Pueblo, CO. As a kid he was interested in music. He would listen to his favorite bands & gravitated to the sound of the Bass Guitar. He started playing bass in Jr. High & in 9th grade started his first band. By the time he was out of High School, he was playing around town in local bands. Eventually he got the opportunity to tour. In the 80s-90s he did a North American tour & in 2004 went on tour to South Korea on a MWR tour. During his musical journey he has opened for national acts such as: Blue Oyster Cult, Robin Trower, Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Slaughter, Winger, Bullet Boys, Mick Fleetwood, Tracii Guns L.A. Guns, etc. amongst many many more to name.
Nick Kash
Lead Guitar
Nick was born in West Hills, CA. At the yound age of 12, he felt drawn to the guitar. After picking up his first guitar and feeling the surge of adrenaline, he knew he wanted to wield an axe and commit his life to it. Influenced by bands such as Megadeth, Death, Violator, Iced Earth, Anthrax, AC/DC, Van Halen, Scorpions, amongst others, he wanted to learn from his heros and couldn't get enough. Later on even sharing the stage and opening for bands such as Hatchet, Death Angel, Fueld By Fire, Havoc, Fan Halen, amongst other.
Stephen Segura
Drummer
Stephen was born in Las Vegas, NM. He became interested in drums at the age of 14. After that he did nothing else but teach himself how to play metal. With infulences from Vinnie Paul, Jimmy Kyle, Dave Lambardo, Jimmy DeGrasso, Nick Menza, and Lars Ulrich, he would just listent to his favorite songs and dissect what each drummer was doing.
The obssession with drums has lasted long past 20 years and his life has revolved around music in one way or another. He is now starting his own music school along with getting close to his roots... Megadeth is definitely his roots!
