Cryptic Writings is a Female fronted Megadeth Tribute band based out of Colorado. With heard hitting drums, thunderous bass, intricate guitar work, towering vocals, & of course a Vic Rattlehead crowd pleaser, Cryptic Writings is an authentic Megadeth tribute as close to the real thing as you can get.

As a band we strive to deliver the best & most authentic Megadeth experience we can offer. Playing anywhere from classic & greatest hit songs to deep cuts long time Megadeth fans want to hear.

Phoenix Rose

Vocals/Guitar

Phoenix was born in Orlando, FL. As a kid her family moved around quite a bit. She started gravitating to music at an early age showing interest in classic rock her parents were always listening to on the radio. Around the age of 10 she asked her parents for a guitar for Christmas & that's where her musical journey began. After about a year of learning to play, her parents got her the gutiar she had been looking at at the local music shop. She formed her first band in Jr. High & has been in multiple bands ever since. It wasn't until after High School that she started playing bigger venues. Since then she's opened for multiple national acts such as: Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Tracii Guns L.A. Guns, Black N Blue, Faster Pussycat, Saliva, Doyle, The Iron Maidens, etc. the list goes on. She formed Cryptic Writings in 2016. The band has been going strong ever since.

Jimie Rod

Bass Guitar

Jimie was born in Pueblo, CO. As a kid he was interested in music. He would listen to his favorite bands & gravitated to the sound of the Bass Guitar. He started playing bass in Jr. High & in 9th grade started his first band. By the time he was out of High School, he was playing around town in local bands. Eventually he got the opportunity to tour. In the 80s-90s he did a North American tour & in 2004 went on tour to South Korea on a MWR tour. During his musical journey he has opened for national acts such as: Blue Oyster Cult, Robin Trower, Jake E. Lee's Red Dragon Cartel, Slaughter, Winger, Bullet Boys, Mick Fleetwood, Tracii Guns L.A. Guns, etc. amongst many many more to name.

Anthony Martinez

Lead Guitar

Anthony was born in the small town of Raton, New Mexico and began his fasination with music at a young age when he laid hands on a guitar for the first time at eh age of 11. Havinga motheras well as other family members that were accomplished musicians, it was easy to feed that passion. He grea up playing everything from country to death metal, but thrash has always been his passion.

In 2013 he reached out to his favorite metal guitarist Chris Broderick (Megadeth / Act of Defiance / In Flames) to take guitar leassons. Since then, Anthony also enlisted the guitarist virtuosity of Greg Burgess (Allegaeon) for lessons as well as taking drum lessons from Shawn Drover (Megadeth / Act of Defiance) to round out his musical ability.

Lionel White

Drummer

Lionel was born in New York City, NY. He was self-taught at an early age and has been playing in the music scene for over 35 years. Playing not only in the Tribute scene but Covers and Originals all up and down the front range as well. Since then he has toured the Mid and southwest multiple times opening for national acts such as: Jack Russell's Great White, Nazareth, Tantric, The Iron Maidens, Paradice Kitty, along with many others to name.

His gear of choise is Pearl Drums, Evens Heads, with Zildjian Cymbals and Pearl Pedals.

Over the years he has learned and performed over 600 songs and counting!
